The book that changed my life

4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris
I dont usually read a lot. But when I read I will get hooked and finish it by the time i knew it. Provided its a good book. This book especially the first 20 % parts of the really get me thinking about my entire life. What Ive been wanting and postponing it all these while. The "mini retirement" was a brilliant idea. Here is what Ive highlighted in this book to share with you and worth mentioning.

Interrupting interruption and the art of refusal
$20 per hour is how much you are paid or value of your time. This would be the case, for eg. if you are paid $40k per year and get two weeks of vacation per year ($40k divide by [40hours per week x 50 = 2000] $20/hour). Estimate your hourly income by cutting the last three seroes off your annual income and halving the remaining number (eg. $50k/year = $25/hour)

How to root Redmi note 3

Dear all,
I just purchased a new smart phone. Redmi Note 3 by Xiao Mi. Its the Chinese Giant. Ive already been using Redmi note 1 4G. However, I was very upset when I received it at first when I unpacked it. The phone was filled with bloatware, freeware, adware. Literally those apps was running in the background no matter how hard I tried to disable it and force stop it still doesnt work. So last option before I send it back to the seller. I rooted it. I understand the risk that was stated by other forumer that you will be risking your phone to a brick. So, you have to becareful when you are thinking about rooting it must follow the steps. Here is how I do it.
Step 1, Enable USB Debugging mode on your phone via Developer Options. Of course you have to firstly activate Developer Options in your Settings page. To do that, simply go to Settings >> About Phone >> then tap on the MIUI version around 7 – 10 times. Now you can go back to main Settings page and you should see Developer Options appear there.

Updated root Miui V7.0.19.0

- Use SP Flash Tool to flash boot older or by of version 7.0.16.0 (only choose "boot" option on Flash tool). If you do not have SP flash tool, download here
- After, root like Old way, done!
- Final, use SP Flash Tool to flash boot of version 7.0.19.0 again.

and you are done!

Purging stuff

I purged a lot of stuff....except for my coffee machine, sewing maching, laptop, ipad and iphone i almost ....almost sold and give away everything..

Yes althought u can cash out some money while u sell all your preloved stuff but then it was so much of hassle. Sometimes it feels better giving it away , save time too.

I sold most my stuf more than 50% cheaper than market price. And you may think im crazy but hey....whats worth more than my time..plus my minimalism way of living?

Little do they know i was a hoarder. Those things weight me down.......i wanted to reduce so much stuff so desperate that i dont care if i make money or not.

It may seesm like u r on the losing end for selling things low price but being a minimalist change the way i see things. Now i no longer have the need...the wants to own more things. Whenever i was at shopping centre and places like that i cant seems to find anything id like to own anymore.

Everytime when im tempted to buy something. I have second thought. I will start to think how this thing on my hand now end up in my sewing room. For weeks, months, or even years....and then one day i will take it our..snap picture and post it online somewhere and sell it lower than my cost price....

Immediately, i put the thing down. It freaks me out. The way i was spending those money and the hassle of running to the post office...etc

I hope this article can help you if u think u r a hoarder or worse....u simply never gets enough.

30 minutes can achieve more than 10 hours

Do you often find yourself always with a huge never ending to do list? Well, you are not alone.

How do I overcome that? Well, to be honest with you I dont really have any idea how to be more effiecient.
I find myself drowning in huge long list of to do list almost everyday.

Accidentally while I was searching for some productivity apps the other day I found this app give you 30 minutes to complete a task. So each task is 30 minutes whether you accomplish it or not. I find this very helpful as I accomplish more this way. Rather than trying to tackle each one on the never ending on going to do list. Try it for yourself.

You dont really need an app. Just set 30 minutes timer on your phone.

How to achieve minimalist lifestyle?

I am not so much of a minimalist. Instead I was almost a hoarder. I filled my craft room aka home office with clutter that I hope to use one day to the brim. That did not happened. That One Day never came. I just keep buying and keep collecting. Until one day the inside minimalist of me said out loud that I scared myself. Enough!
So here I am. Reduced 30% of the things that I own. Either by giving away, donating to local churches...Etc.

Where to start?
1. Start room by room.
Tackle each room even if it took you more than a week to do it. I literally downloaded an apps which is called the 30 minutes. Which mean you listed down things that you want to do. To clear out or something like that. Then set start on your phone. Once that 30 minutes time is up, stop whatever you are doing then move on to the next task on your list. By doing this not only you will be more efficient and you will achieve more by doing this. You actually set on your kitchen timer or alarm.

2. Use boxes
Use several boxes. But in my case which I have already tossed most of my things I was using garbage bag. It worked just fine. You dont have to fold every each clothes or fold every each piece of paper that you are going to give away or donate. Just tossed it into the designated box or garbage bag or plastic bag. Make sure you have a few boxes label as Recycle, Donate, or To Sell. In my opinion, selling takes a long process. It has a few risk if you are left un-monitored.  Risk are if you posted advertisement online for quite sometime and those things just sitting in the box. Chances are you are going back to open those box and say to your self that you should keep that. That action it self is called endowment effect. You can search that one up on Youtube. It is basically means that the thing it self has no value until you make it worth something. If in doubt, ask yourself these questions: If you are in the store right now, will you buy it? Does it flatter you? Does it fit on you? If the answers are no toss it back into the box or bag and seal it up. Do not open it again. Just get rid of it. The second risk is that if you are on the way to minimize your things you will be very busy which also means that you wont have the time to run to the post office to send the parcel. So, be generous. Give it away.

3. What is that remain
What should you remain. In my case, my craft room was clutter which items that I wished or I delusional-ly thought that one day I might have the time or creativity juice hit me i can make it out of something. Mostly are recycle items that other people no longer wants.  Now I have give away most of my junk and recycle most of it. I only keep fabric, ribbons, sewing notions, stationery and some papers. Stationery, I used to have a big stack. I was almost a stationery addict. I bought almost any kind of pens, scrap papers etc. Just to name a few. But now I only keep few that I use every day or our family would use often. Such as a few colours of sharpies, pens, pencils, ruler, plain white papers for printing, wrapping papers. I have given away almost 80-90% of stationery to the Sunday school church. Do I regret? At first I thought so. The "what if" keep hitting me while I was packing those stuff. But I reflect on my life. I was thinking that how many thing could I have possibly use for my entire life. Chances are I was not going to use it. I feel great now that I can find whatever things that I need now immediately. I now know where all my things are store.

I guess that is all for today. As a beginner I suggest you to look up more information about minimalism as it will inspire you to own less. The less is more. It is true. I now have more time with my baby and my family. Less stuff also means that less cleaning to do. Less clutter you gain a bigger space of living. What is point if you own so much and yet you are not happy right? But for me not only that. I also save more money as I dont shop or buy as I used to. More on that , the benefit of being a minimalist.
